Day 2
Registering for the Color Run yesterday! SO exciting! We had so much fun running it (well let's be honest - walking it) last time but this year we're definitely running it! My brother & sister in law will be joining us so that means our sweet nieces will be there too! And last time our beautiful niece Chloe had so much fun with all the paint craziness and looked so stinking cute with all the colors all over her face!
My sister in law & I have decided we're running the Gulf Coast Half in Mandeville in October so this run in August will be a fun prep...well 1/4 prep...yikes better start training like a beast for this half!
For now - I'll start with this...then keep building up from there for a half!
I talked about my resolutions at the beginning of the year and one of them was to become a runner so this year is definitely the year and what a better place to start than the Happiest 5k on the planet!
Daily happiness tip #2: Spend money on experiences not things. I don't even want to count the amount of times I've said "oh my gosh I just HAVE to have those shoes, jeans, lipgloss, blah blah." But I don't remember those. In fact they are stuck in a drawer in the bathroom or in a Goodwill pile or already gone. However memories & experiences with those you love NEVER go away. I'll never forget the memories Jacob & I made at the Orpheus ball this year...not a cheap evening ticket but I wore my prom dress from high school & some gold Steve Madden flip flops my Aunt gave me before our Honeymoon so I'd be ready to dance the night away! Just a silly example but goes to show - spending money on things is not even a FRACTION as satisfying as sharing moments with those most special to me.
