31 days of happiness - day 6

Day 6

Today was an AMAZING day. So much happiness I can barely contain it! So I got to come back early from offshore for a meeting & not only was I able to be home for Easter dinner with my amazing family but also was able to get ready and drive to work with Jacob! I know it seems really small but it gave me just a glimpse into what we will get to do once I'm in the office. It was so sweet having coffee with him and driving to work with him and I just can't wait until that's everyday!

Other than that - It's always tough when I spend days in the office because it just reminds me of what I don't have yet...and have no timeline on. It's been such a roller coaster of not knowing when I'll be called into the office or hearing rumors that I'll come in early or me just not believing in myself that I'll ever be ready...it's an uphill battle.

So what do I do when I'm sad & overwhelmed?

Here are my top 6 happiness tips of day 6

1. Go outside stand in the sunshine, close your eyes, take a deep breath and let the warm sun fall over your skin.
2. Turn off your phone, lay in a hammock with an easy read.
3. Jam out in your car with some Britney...well not necessarily Britney but that's my fun music of choice!
4. Call my momma. She always knows what to say when I'm upset or overwhelmed or feeling inadequate. She's always on team Amanda and I can't imagine the day when she's not just a phone call away.
5. Go sit at a local coffee shop and cuddle up in a corner and make plans. I know it sounds crazy but to me making lists & plans of all the things I want to accomplish makes me feel invincible. For some reason it doesn't make me feel overwhelmed or powerless it makes me feel strong and capable. Try it - making a list makes things seem within reach...just a "cross-out" away from being accomplished.
6. Talk to God. When I feel unworthy, undeserving, or unlovable He reminds my heart that I'm still worthy of Him and His love. No. Matter. What.

Orrrrr think about amazing days like this when Jacob & I were in New York and had an incredible, romantic, magical snow day. That day is my happy place when I'm offshore & sad. We were two outrageous, ridiculous, rednecks playing in the snow like it was the first time we'd ever seen it. Amazing & simple.

Romans 15:13 - I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy & peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

xoxo
